Apple researchers introduced Selection-based Structured Reasoning, a method that replaces open-ended reasoning with selection from reusable candidates. On seven multimodal search benchmarks, it cut per-turn reasoning latency by over 90% and total per-question inference latency by 28–54% without sacrificing task performance.
